Stage Your Home Like an Expert

Staging is an important part of selling your home.  There’s a reason why the expertly staged homes you see on reality shows sell over the asking price!  But staging doesn’t have to be as elaborate or expensive as it is on TV.  A few small details can go a long way when it comes to selling your home.

Pare down furniture:

The first thing professional stagers will do is remove up to half of your furniture so the spaces look bigger. You want potential buyers to be able to move around each room and easily access your home’s best features, like built-in bookshelves or feature windows.

Add an office space:

Since the shift to remote work, more buyers will have “home office” on their list of must-haves.  If you don’t currently have an office space, consider staging one to spark the imagination of potential buyers.

Amp up the lighting:

One of the things that make staged homes look so spacious and welcoming is great lighting.  Try increasing the wattage in your lamps and fixtures and aim to have three types of lighting in each room.  Another trick is to raise your curtain rods to let in more natural light and make your windows appear larger.
